Welcome to the Design and Access Statement Tool. A resource for those involved in producing statements to support development proposals.

Input some basic information about your proposed development (location, use, scale) and the tool will provide customised advice on the likely size and structure of the Design and Access Statement as well as the key elements which are likely to be important to consider.

You can either use the tool to write and generate a plain text Design and Access Statement document* online or simply print off/save the headings and prompts for completion offline. The save facility (only available to registered users) allows you to store, leave and return to multiple documents.

To activate the save function and also enable us to keep you informed of new developments you must first register.

* The plain text document is not intended to be used as the final Design Statement document but rather a template which may require further editing/additions and crucially the inclusion of images. It can be imported into a word document or a desk top publishing package of your choice (i.e. Photoshop, Pagemaker, Coral Draw).
